LUIGI LONARDO, Associate Professor of European Law, Luxembourg Centre for European Law, University of Luxembourg
Luigi Lonardo is an Associate Professor of European Law at the Luxembourg Centre for European Law, University of Luxembourg. His research focuses on EU external relations, foreign, security and defence policy, and the interaction between law and geopolitics. He is the author of EU Common Foreign and Security Policy After Lisbon: Between Law and Geopolitics (Springer, 2022) and the forthcoming book Russia’s 2022 War Against Ukraine and the EU’s Foreign Policy Reaction: Context, Diplomacy, and Law (Palgrave Macmillan). He has previously held academic positions at University College Cork, King’s College London, the University of Westminster, and Sciences Po in Paris.
Keynote speech 2: Making Competition Work: Challenges and Lessons from Post-Socialist Economies
JASMINKA PECOTIĆ KAUFMAN, Professor of Law at the Faculty of Economics & Business, University of Zagreb
Jasminka Pecotić Kaufman is a Professor of Law specializing in competition and business law, and currently a Fernand Braudel Senior Fellow at the European University Institute. Her research focuses on competition law enforcement, Europeanization, and institutional effectiveness in post-socialist and EU Member States, with a strong empirical orientation. She has published extensively in leading international journals, co-edited and co-authored key books in the field, and plays an active role in global competition law networks. She is also the founder of the Šoljan Competition Law and Policy Conference series and a leading expert advising institutions on competition policy and enforcement.

The EUsolis 2.0 Jean Monnet Team from the Faculty of Economics & Business, University of Zagreb (FEB Zagreb), Croatia, is pleased to invite you to the 2nd International Scientific Jean Monnet Conference 2026: Empowering Europe’s Future through Education as part of the EUsolis 2.0 Jean Monnet project. This Conference will focus on, but is not limited to, the themes of education, democracy, solidarity, inclusiveness, safety, sustainability, youth, and the overall promotion of EU values. It aims to bring together researchers, educators, experts, and practitioners to present their research and discuss recent educational challenges, democracy issues, EU integration, ESG issues, and other relevant topics. Listeners are also welcome to join!
Participation in the Conference is free of charge.
To be published, all abstracts and full papers must be prepared according to the instructions for authors.

If you require a paper acceptance confirmation for business trip purposes, please submit an abstract at your convenience.
Notification of Acceptance: up to 10 working days after submission.
All full papers will undergo double-blind peer review. The process will take approximately 2 weeks after paper submission.
All accepted abstracts and full papers will be scheduled in the sessions for 15-minute presentations (in a hybrid mode).
Conference Proceedings and the Book of Abstracts will be published right after the Conference (both with ISBN and DOI). During the review process, full papers with potential for publication in selected journals will be evaluated, and the authors will be informed of the decision.
